Well folks, you can see my pictures from the Lewiston trip under scraps.

So as I mentioned before, I went to Idaho for a job interview. I'm having mixed feelings about it now. At the time, I felt like it went really well. Everyone seemed really positive and responsive, and I felt really good about it. They also really seemed to like my presentation and that was my major concern. There was one question they asked me that tripped me up a bit, but who knows. They asked me how I would explain a scholarly journal. Which was so dumb of me and it caught me off guard. I did define it, but I don't think I was very coherent. I mean, I don't remember ever needing or having scholarly journals explained to me, but I know what they are. I guess it never occurred to me that I would ever have to explain them to anyone else. It totally caught me off guard, and left me feeling incredibly dumb. But I didn't think that was a make or break question and I left feeling really good. But now it's been four days and I haven't heard anything, and maybe I'm just being impatient or stressing out for no reason, but I figure each day I don't hear from them lowers my chances. Now, in fairness, I'm coming from the perspective of never having to wait more than a day to get hired for a job in my life if I got the position. The best job that I've ever had hired me on the spot, so there you go. Maybe some of you with different experiences could let me know about how things went for you. Might make me feel better.
Anyway, the town was really nice. I didn't get to see much of the historic downtown, which is normally the part of small towns that I love, so I was disappointed about that. The downtown, I guess is just starting to be restored and revitalized, but the whole area is well cared for and you get a sense that people care about their town. They did have some big box stores like Wal-Mart and Home Depot, so it seems like a nice balance. The mall had the biggest Bath and Body I've ever seen in my life. And it was one of only about 9 stores, which was hilarious. I also love that they thought a) the mall was a major selling point for me and b) that their directions to get there were go up 21st and turn right at Taco Time.
They also have Shari's! Shari's is totally one of my favorite places to eat, and it takes me back to college days. Many of the major memories from college involve Shari's, and an unhealthy amount of caffeine. So love for that.
The people were really great and seem like they would be just the kind of folks that I would enjoy working with. Friendly, nice, committed to what they do because they really love it. That's the kind of environment I would flourish in.
I posted some of my pictures on deviant art at:

It was really gorgeous there and I love that there is a lot of water in the area. And I'm going to be totally depressed if I don't get it.
